Hi,
In the last 3 months or so I've gained around 7 pounds and it ain't muscle. What's changed in that time is that I've shifted my diet to include lots of veggies and juicing twice a day. I'm not doing a vegetarian diet nor eating lots of meat. Before this change I was eating more meat and more grain than I am now.
What could explain the gain in body fat? Could my body be detoxing and not be able to get crud out so it's storing it in fat? I'm traveling a lot during the next month so I won't have time to do a serious cleanse until late January.
Thoughts?

Hi Sol,
Sorry I missed your query until just now.
Good question. I think most of us, as we age, find that our weight will change, even though our diet and exercise stays the same. I don't think there's a single one answer out there. Our hormones and metabolism change, probably other things as well.
For me, I was skinny my whole life, and suddenly about 8 years ago, I started putting on weight. It's taken awhile for me to figure out why, and how to adjust. For me, I had to start exercising more (spin classes, hikes, Core Power yoga done in a warm room). Also, like you, I had to start eating less grains and carbs, and more animal foods.
I'm surprised your weight gain came after increasing vegetables; usually, it's just the opposite. Any other details, or changes in your life? I'd look for more clues.
