Great! Thanks for coming on board! I am flexible with the start date - I am good for 1 May or 1 June. I've listened to the CD's, and read both books.

I have cleaned out the kitchen - and I probably need to read the recipe section of 28 day to ensure I have the ingredients I need, and substitutions for the items I have allergies to.

What works better for you? May or June?

What are going to be your dairy substitutes?

My daughter uses Hemp Milk (she has allergies to almonds, rice, and soy)

I use Rice Milk and like it. Olive oil in place of butter. There are so many flavors of olive oil, I have a few favorites.

As far as being without dairy, I miss the cheese, cottage cheese, and yogurt most.

I am allergic to almonds, garlic, chili powder, ginger, and a few other things. I can recommend more substitutions as we go along.

Did you drink your quart of water this morning?

I am totally in for May 1. I have been gearing up for this for the past month.
The cooking part will be easy for me because I have cooked macrobiotically
for almost 10 years. Juicing , the huge water intake, the blue-green algae,
colon cleansing (i get my first in a series of hydro-colonics tomorrow ...YIKES !!!!) and everything else is all new. I am worried about losing weight and getting all this juicing done in an already jam-packed morning.
I am happy to have company with this. My husband is going to be a part of this but I don't know how much.
Oh yes , one more worry. My social calendar for May is packed . Unbelievable.
Glad y'all are out there!!

Welcome Naomi. No worries to you, your calender and busy mornings are not a bother, you are prepared ahead of time and will do great.

As far as allergies, thankfully I have none. I have replaced milk with the low cal Almond milk. I do not eat much cheese so that won't be a problem. My largest obsticle will be high suger treats, like custard and ice cream.

I have had a lot of fun with different oils this last week. I have made popcorn with coconut oil..holy yum!, and grapeseed and flax oil. I do not know how I will fit the blue algae in or where I will buy it....I was hoping to get my shipment by today but it did not come. Do both of you have the whole pack? So far I have only read Cellular Cleansing Made Easy.

Water is pretty easy for me to get in, Naomi I would like to hear about the colon hydrotherapy, I still have to make those appts. I did do the dry brush this morning, mysin feels great. I will check in tomarrow.

I may be providing more support than participation this month ~ the prescreening for the colonics requires I have been without diverticulitis symptoms for six months, and it's only been two weeks. I will have to wait to do colonics later.

I kicked off last night in the Emerg Dept getting another look at my abdomen - unbelievable how many times they will ask if you want pain relief.

I declined as I had to drive home when all was said and done at 3am. Plus I don't like the side effects. The CT showed nothing unusual, the pain is still there this morning. The boss sent me home from work this a.m. to rest.

Until I can catch up with this months activities, I'll watch and support from here. Drinking water is the easy part. As is the body scrub. I have a vita mix I use regularly, but no juicer, and I don't have some of the other things - the blue green algae -

I will be substituting for garlic and ginger due to allergies. That's the nice thing about the way they've presented the materials in the book - flexibility in playing with one's food!

Did anyone follow the DAY ONE suggestions in the book this morning?

I was prepared to be embarrassed and be uncomfortable for the colonics
and am happy to report it was a very interesting experience and in fact I had no pain or awkwardness.
This am with all the juicing (64 oz) took 45 minutes. Gotta do better.
My husband is not thrilled with all this.
I am not in the mood for a Kentucky Derby party today. This mood will need to change .
Thanks for asking me about it.
Tonight brown rice, white beans and lots of veggies ...,..and no beer.

I was going to suggest Greens Beer because it is gluten free - but then remembered that ETOH is off our menu for the next month, sorry about the Derby without Beer Naomi!

I'm glad you had the stick-to-itiveness to do your day one. I'm on strict clear liquids until morning. Then I'll 'start' a day behind you.

Lead the way! And the mood is bound be different a month from now when we are celebrating the successes of the month, hang in there. Perhaps husband will be better about it too when he see's how amazing you look - are you going to take 'Day One and Day Twenty Eight Pix??

Okay, I did skip the party and hubby and I went for a two mile walk/run.
He was drenched in sweat and I got a bit moist. I quit sweating a few years ago for some reason.

I cut 5 minutes off my juice time. It's the carrots giving me the fits. They turn sideways. We are taking the probiotics, enzymes and bluegreen algae plus that garlic supplement called allimax. I also made the saurkraut with that fermenting crock. So far everything has been done by the book.

Today we try the wheatgrass shots. (I got a local farmer to keep this growing for me) and tonight we go to our club for the sauna rounds. Maybe that will make me sweat.

Tonight we eat tempeh salad (tastes like tuna) with a big salad.

Yes, I must say I have plenty of energy but I usually do anyway.

I want to hear about the stomach and the colonic experience from y'all.

OMG! My mail came and no books or cd's. WTF? I am bummed, I was hoping to do more than practice and I want to do this 100% with you all. I hope I get it tomarrow.

Any one having diahrrea? Do you think the juicing can cause that? I also had the sea veggie's for the first ime yesterday....What are your thoughts?

Well Dern Darnit about your books - don't fret over the start date - we'll be here this month and next!

I'd already planned on posting a June start date after this weekend.

my daughter and I officially decided today that we were not quite as prepared as we thought to begin the 28 days, so we are calling this month our trial period -

We have the rest of this month to figure out the following

finding substitutes for soy, ginger, and garlic

sources for gluten free soy free miso (south river miso)

ordering the salts

In the meantime, we are doing 'the rest' of the cleanse - the water, the body scrub, the probiotics, and so on

So relax and make a list of all the things you are doing right -

we can build on the success of starting off this month with the 'free and easy' stuff Smile

lay the foundation for

Next month when we'll be rolling like Proud Mary performed by Tina Turner !

Yes , it does take a lot of preparation to do this cleanse.
I can't tell you how hard I worked to get it all lined up.

So, am I hearing that yall both are postponing until June?

I had a good day. The sauna rounds were great.
No stomach problems. My husband is starting to get into it.

Rebounding is fun. It burns lots of calories, is easy on the joints and moves
the lymph like crazy. You should try it.

Let me know what your plans are.

Naomi -

Thanks for posting! I plan on stopping in every night to check on progress, to provide support, and I also plan on following what steps I can for the entire month of May.

Then doing it again in June. Maybe even again in July?

Glad to hear your DH is getting it. Mine is not home until July - and I want to be 'impressive' when he gets back. He also wants me to put him through the 28 days when he gets back, so I will need all of the practice I can get working through the recipes and the steps each day demands.

What type of wheat grass did you decide to use? Fresh? Freeze Dried?

I did get massage today, and am soooo congested?!

I drank all of my four quarts of h20 and two more. Trying to wash out the sticky ickies.

Found a wonderful substitute for soy sauce made of coconut tree bark. Called Coconut Aminos. And ordered gluten free/soy free substitutes for some of the recipes in the book.

Progressing one bite at a time!

Do you rebound to any specific program or music?

Hey y'all. Wow, day 4. Did my sauna rounds last night and woke up this am
menstruating. I feel fine but not as energetic today. My husband is still fighting his itchy skin.
I hope everything is well with y'all.
I never answered the rebounding question. I don't do the music but I guess I could. I get so short on time I just have it set up in the garage and rebound when I can.

NO BOOKS Sad

I am doing good, feeling pretty good. I am struggling in the afternoon, really craving sugar. I have been having extra carrot juice. That seems to help. I have my colonic tomarrow...yikes.

As soon as I get the shipment I will be on track and start day one asap. I have everything as far as food goes. I should be good to go.

Tonight we mixed up lettuce from the garden - I grow four different kinds - with a cucumber and a pear with some lemon juice. It tasted like spring.

How's everyone holding up on the cleanse?

Pretty good. I think I am getting worn out just from all the preparations.
You should see my kitchen after juicing 64 oz , fixing a morning grain, steaming the greens, fixing our water and tea intake for the day and packing our lunches, getting out vitamins, feeding and walking the dogs and leaving the house at 7:15 am. I really am use to it all except the juicing part. I am getting up 15 minutes earlier and that helps but I am still rushed.

I am sorry if i sound like I am whining. I do feel better and my husband has lost his dry hacking cough he has had for years. His skin is still itching like crazy about twice a day.

I guess it's like Scott says, it takes the first week to settle in and that's what I am trying to do.

I wish I had a garden .... well maybe not

Easy Garden -

Get a table you can put outside in the sun (I built one out of scrap wood and got another plastic patio table from the curb).

Buy two 50lb bags of miracle grow garden soil. Buy a pack of lettuce and a pack of spinach.

Lay one bag on each table.

Use a box cutter or sharp knife to slice one row down the length of the bag, about four inches from the edge of the bag - One bag, two rows.

Plant seeds according to directions. Water lightly.

Three to four weeks later, start cutting your greens as you need them.

If it's too hot they will wilt - so grow something heat tolerant if you are in deep south - or plant in shade.

Water in the morning. Pull weeds at night.

Fresh is amazing. I have four bags, three lettuce, one spinach.

Good for spring and fall. Heat of summer zaps the life out of them in thes area.

good news I got the book and c.d.'s they make it a lot easier

I had my first colonic. Wow it was okay and I felt great afterwards. Not as bad as I thought. I do another one on Wen next week.

I have a party tonight, I am worried about drinking, it will be hard not to. If I do I will be starting over day one. Did you all make the squash chili? Too spicey.....

As far as the garden goes, I saw the same bag technique in a book. You can acutally put the bags on the ground where ever you like, just poke holes in the bottom of the bags for drainage. The name of the book is Starter Vegetable Garden by Barbara Pleasant. I bought it at Barnes and Nobles.
