Q&A for those new to The Cleansing Forum
I'm new here... what is this and how do I use it?
Hello and welcome to the How Health Works Cleansing Forum.

The Cleansing Forum is a place where you can type in a question or response, click the Submit button, and any other HHW Member around the world can see your post. Other members can then respond back and forth with you. It's a way of communicating on the Internet with people around the world who are also learning about internal cleansing.

How do I use this How Health Works Forum?
Here are some suggestions:

1. View the "Topics" that people have posted. They now go back over 5 years, so there's quite a bit of information. When you find one that seems interesting, just click on it. This will open up into the full text post. If someone has posted a response, you will also see these, underneath the original post.

2. The other suggestion would be to post a question yourself. Your HHW Member login is the same is the forum login. To post a new topic, just hit the "New Topic" button, located just above the Topics, towards the left. Type a topic in the topic field (a field being a box where you can type something), and then type in your question or comment. Then, once you're finished with your commments, be sure to hit the "Submit" button, there at the bottom of your post. This will then place your message on the top of the other posts.

Go ahead, give it a try.

The 3 Rules to the forum. Please read.
There are basically three rules to this forum:

1. No selling. You can recommend any products or books or items that you think will help others, but you can not be associated with those stores and items. This simply prevents the Cleansing Forum from becoming a sales pitch place.

2. No "trolling." This means that you can't post something that is intentionally threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, offensive, pornographic, or profane.

3. No slamming. This means: be nice. Be supportive. It's okay to disagree, but post as if your mother were watching.

Registering: Do I Need To In Order To Use This Forum?
Yes, but membership is now free. If you're able to post or respond to a post, then you're already a member. If not, go back to the HHW home page and click on Free Membership link.

Access to this Cleansing Forum is the same as the HHWorks Membership "login" (name and password).

Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for 10 minutes. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in (highly recommended) check the box during login. This is NOT recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. a library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc.

Why can't I log in?
If you are a HHWorks member and you still cannot log in, then double-check your username and password. Remember that these are "case-sensitive", meaning that capitals and non-capital letters count (be sure that you don't have your Caps Lock key on). Usually this is the problem. If you're still having trouble, contact us at info AT howhealthworks.com.

How do I prevent my username from appearing in the online user listings?
In the links to the right of the FAQ link (there at the top of the Forum page), you will see a Profile link, if you have registered. Click on it and you will find an option Hide your online status; if you switch this on you'll only appear to board administrators or to yourself. To everyone else, your email address will be hidden forever. Only your nickname will appear.

User Preferences and settings
Can I change my email or password and other settings?
Yes. AT the top of the forum page, there is a link called Profile . It will allow you to alter all of your preferences for your membership account, including this forum.

It will also allow you to add a picture next to each of your posts. This picture is also called your "avatar." You can upload one you already have on your computer, or click the "Gallery" button and you can choose one there. If you need help posting a picture, just send it to info AT howhealthworks.com, tell us your membership name (so we know who you are), and we'll upload it for you.

The times are not correct.
What you may be seeing are times displayed in a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, you should change your Profile setting (via the Profile link, at the top of this Forum page) for the timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc.

How do I show an image below my username?
As is evident by Scott's overly sunny disposition image next to all of his posts, any registered member of the Cleansing Forum can now post a picture. This picture is also known as an "Avatar."

This pic/avatar will appear next to each of your posts. You can choose either one of the icon avatars that are located in your "Profile" settings, or you can prepare and load up a picture from your computer.

Here's how:

1. Click on the link near the top of each Forum page, called "Profile."

2. There on your Profile page, at the bottom, is the "Avatar Control Panel." As it says, you can use any picture you want, as long as it is:

a. Not greater than 140 pixels wide by 140 pixels high

b. Not bigger than 128 KB in size.

3. You have get your avatar picture onto the forum in one of two ways:

1) You have a picture prepared on your computer (again, no greater than 100x100, and 128 KB or less).

2) You find an avatar online and copy that link into the forum.

Posting Issues
How do I edit or delete a post?
You can edit a post by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it.

How do I add a signature to my post?
First a definition of a "signature" -- a signature is an Internet and email term that describes some text that will automatically appear at the bottom of every message that you post.

To add a signature to a post you must first create one; this is done via your profile (via the Profile link near the top of the Forum window. Once created you can check the Add Signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio box in your profile. You can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box on the posting form.

Formatting and Topic Types
What is BBCode?
First, a note: if you don't want to hassle with formatting your posts, you don't need to read this section. This is stuff that only deals with how to spice up your posts with some nice formatting.

Next: BBCode is code "tags" that allow you to format your text, such as bolding certain words, or italicizing them, or even giving them different colors or sizes.

The way it works is this: specific characters—called tags— are enclosed in square braces [ and ] on either side of the words that you want to format in your post.

When you click on the Post or Reply buttons, you will see a toolbar across the top of your post window, such as B, I, Quote, IMG, etc. By clicking one of these buttons, they place a tag into your post. You then type some text, and then you hit that button again, to "close" the tag.

The best way to learn how to use all this formatting is to just play around with a post and these buttons, and then click the "Preview" button below. This will allow you to see your formatting beauty (or mess), and allow you to play around with it unti you get how these tags and formatting work. Have fun.

What are Smileys?
Smileys, or Emoticons, are small graphical images which can be used to express some feeling using a short code, e.g. :) means happy, :( means sad. The full list of emoticons can be seen on the left side of any new posting form. Try not to overuse smileys, though, as they can quickly render a post unreadable. Still, an occasional smiley can help get your point across better. Try one out.
Can I post Images?
Most definitely. Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, How Health Works doesn't have any ability for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server).

IF the image is somewhere on the Internet, though, then posting it here is easy. To display the image, use the BBCode [img] tag at the beginning of the link, then put the full htttp address of the image, and then end it with [/img] tag. It will look like this:

[img]/assets/jpg/hhw_home_splash.jpg[/img]

What are Sticky topics?
Sticky topics appear at the top of the Forum page, and "stick" there until removed by the administrator. They are usually about a topic that is either in the news a lot, or is being asked a lot in the forum.

Only the administrators can post and remove Stickies.
